MOSAIC 2010 Staff

Donna Trotter, Camp Director

David Turner, Pastor, Art Instructor / 3 years with MOSAIC
"I believe God endows all His children with both the desire to be creative and the power to fulfill that desire.  Our creative passions push us toward higher aspirations.  What better way to glorify God than to create beauty as God did in His creative acts."  This will be my third year to participate in what I delight in seeing:  children finding their creative gifts.  As one of the art teachers for this summer's MOSAIC camp I look forward to introducing new comers to art projects.  I am also going to lead returning students to expand into new expressions of their creativity.  I try to find in the ordinary sense about me lessons that build my faith and help me to build the faith of others.

Mary Beth Strickland, Art Instructor / 3 years with MOSAIC
Mary Beth is retired from teaching elementary school art in Habersham county for 20 years.  This is her third year participating with First Baptist's MOSAIC Arts Camp.  This summer the campers will learn how to use shapes and lines to draw animals.  We will be drawing together, step by step.  It is interesting to watch each child's drawing gradually develop it's own special uniqueness. Various ways of adding color will be used to finish each project.

My passion is music.  I try to use my music for instruction youth, personal pleasure, leading in worship, praising God, and sharing my music with others.  I will spend my life praising God with my music.  I have taught music in MOSAIC camp for two years.  My long-term plan is to teach children in MOSAIC camp about the joy of using music in all aspects of life.  Music is fun, inspiring, and rewarding.  It is a gift that God gives us to use all our lives.  Thank God that He puts a song in our heart.  It is our joy to develop the song and share it with others.

Carrie Trotter, Photography Instructor / 4 years with MOSAIC

Kim Reed, Photography Assistant & Publicity / 4 years with MOSAIC
I love photography and the ability that it gives us to capture simple everyday moments.  There is a lot of creativity that can be involved with photography, rather than just snapping a picture. This my fourth year working with the MOSAIC Arts Camp photography class and I love seeing the way the kids open up to using their imagination to capture just the right photograph.

This will be my 1st year working with the MOSAIC Arts Camp at FBC, Cornelia. I have taught Pre-K at the FBC PreSchool this year and I love my ‘princesses’. Of course, I also love little ‘princes’ as well. I love working with students in an effort to help them demonstrate and promote free expression through the gifts God has given each of them. I’m looking forward to helping lots of students find not only their creative gifts this summer; but in sharing God’s love and the desire to know more about the wander of His universe in MOSAIC Arts Camp 2010.
